I declined the offer for caraga region because I have to. Have you ever been in a situation wherein you were made to choose between family and career?! It sucks right?! When my mother forced me to decide according to her will, I felt like my soul was lost. No words can describe what I felt that time. I was betrayed, hurt, alone, sad, angry, and lost. I wanted to escape and run, but these wont do any good for me. Questions keep flashing inside my mind. Then a very good friend shared this for me to ponder.

HOW TO FEEL FULFILLED AS AN ARTIST THERAPIST (replace any profession u have/degree)

1. NEVER COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHER ARTISTS THERAPISTS.(replace any profession u have/degree)

2. KNOW THAT YOUR FAMILY IS BIASED. WHETHER FOR OR AGAINST, THEIR VIEWS ARE SKEWED AND DO NOT REPRESENT AN ACCURATE REFLECTION OF YOUR WORK IN THE WORLD.

3. BASE YOUR SUCCESS ON HOW YOUR ART THERAPY (replace any profession u have/degree)

 HAS ENRICHED YOUR LIFE AND HOW YOU FEEL WHEN YOU CREATE IT.

4. CONSTANTLY PUSH YOURSELF TO EXPAND AND LEARN.

5. KNOW THAT ART THERAPY (replace any profession u have/degree) CAN NEVER BE MEASURED IN DOLLARS AND WILL ONLY EVER APPRECIATE IN VALUE.

6. TRUST THAT WHEN YOU ARE MAKING THE WORLD MORE BEAUTIFUL, THERE IS ALWAYS ENOUGH. HONEST WORK IS NOT A COMPROMISE IF IT SUPPORTS THE CREATION OF ART HEALING.

7. REMEMBER, IT IS THE JOB OF THE ARTIST THERAPIST TO CREATE NEW CULTURE, NOT SIMPLE TO REGURGITATE WHAT EXISTS.

8. NEVER EXPECT YOUR FAMILY CO-WORKERS TO UNDERSTAND YOUR ART THERAPY, BUT DO YOUR BEST TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT IT, PATIENTLY.

9. WHENEVER A CRITIC OFFERS THEIR ADVICE, SMILE AND NOD. THEN CREATE YOUR ART THERAPY AUTHENTICALLY.

10. REMEMBER WHAT DALI SAID: ”HAVE NO FEAR OF PERFECTION. YOU’LL NEVER REACH IT.”

i can’t do any of these. the reason/s? I AM NOT ALLOWED TO DO ANYTHING AND AT THE SAME TIME I MUST OBEY MY PARENTS NO MATTER WHAT. so basically, I AM A PUPPET. yes i am aware of it and i don’t have a choice. for them there is no room for my own decisions. it is ALWAYS theirs’ that i need to follow. their decision equates LAW. No, let me rephrase. PAPA’S DECISION IS THE LAW. I CANNOT BREAK IT NOR BEND IT. I NEED TO OBEY HIM WITHOUT ANY QUESTIONS. i don’t have a father. i have a KING TO OBEY.
